Reception - New Admissions

Linden Reception is where your child will begin their journey as part of the Linden Family. We welcome your child with open arms and look forward to supporting them to grow. The following information provides an insight into our Reception. However the best way to see it is in action so please don't hesitate to make an appointment to come and see it. Appointments can be made by emailing office@linden.leicester.sch.uk or by calling 01162738435.

We aim to ensure that each child:

  • Is in a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Is given generous care and attention, because of our ratio of qualified staff to children.
  • Has the chance to join with other children and adults to live, play, work and learn together.
  • Is helped to take forward her/his learning and development by being helped to build on what she/he already knows and can do.
  • Has a dedicated key person who ensures their key children make good progress.
  • Is in a setting that sees parents as partners in helping each child to learn and develop.
  • Is in a setting in which parents help to shape the service it offers.

Key Information

Bringing and collecting your child

·   Your child must be brought to school and collected by an adult over 18 years of age.

·   If someone different is going to collect your child, please inform the staff beforehand or ring the school office.

·   Please ensure that you are on time when you bring and collect your child.

Illness:

Please telephone the school office by 8:45am on 0116 2738435 to inform us of any absence. This will need to be done on a daily basis until your child returns to school.

Clothing:

Children wear a school uniform - Please write your child’s name on all times of clothing. The information regarding purchasing a uniform can be found below.

Your child will need to be suitably dressed for taking part in a variety of activities both indoors and outdoors. We also ask for you to provide wellington boots to be kept in school.

Your child will take part in P.E sessions and will need clothing for this.

Reading

At Linden Primary School, we promote a love of reading by sharing a range of stories with children throughout the day. Your child can borrow a book from the class library. This is a book you can share with your child and help them develop their interest in stories and books.

Healthy snacks:

We provide milk and healthy snacks for all the children. We encourage all children to try these. Please discuss your child’s dietary requirements with their class teacher if they cannot drink milk or have any allergies. We are a nut free school due to children and staff having nut allergies.
